1. SPACE
Whether you will use your garden room as a gym, a lounge area or office, one thing is for sure - you will have more space!
Garden offices have really taken off in the past year as more people are working from home than ever before. A garden office provides a workspace separate from home life with room for a large desk, comfortable seating, storage, appropriate lighting and most importantly, an environment that promotes focus and productivity. They are also perfect for kids to do their homework and study for exams!
Looking for an additional living area? These are a huge hit for dame dens and man caves, TV & gaming rooms, garden bars and gyms. Separate from your home, you can hit the running machine at 6am without waking the rest of the family, or provide your teenagers with a space to hang out with their friends at the weekends and make as much noise as they want!
2. ADD VALUE TO YOUR PROPERTY
atHome garden rooms are an impressive feature to any property and this resonates when it comes to getting your home valued. Our sophisticated design and craftsmanship using the highest quality materials add value to your home and can boost interest from future buyers should you ever decide to sell.
3. PUT YOUR GARDEN OFFICE THROUGH YOUR BUSINESS
If you are self-employed or own a limited company, speak with your accountant on how you can put your garden office through your business and about claiming VAT back on the costs. It's advisable to consult with a professional tax service or your accountant as there are complex rules which can vary on individual situations.
4. NO TRAFFIC, NO COMMUTE
Ok, this one is for the working-from-home crew! Imagine getting up and your only daily commute is a 5-second stroll through your garden? You can set a later alarm and have a peaceful morning with no daily commute or traffic jams allowing you to start your day with calmness and ease.
5. ZERO PLANNING PERMISSION
All of our pre-designed garden rooms meet permitted development requirements UK-wide and no planning permission is required to build. There are only a few instances where permission is required - for example, if your garden room will be used as accommodation - but just speak to the atHome team who will keep your right.
6. ENTERTAINMENT SPACE
Many of our clients use their garden room for socialising and entertaining guests! Game rooms, home cinemas and even garden bars are becoming increasingly popular. Here's an image of Sean and Emma's Irish Bar that went viral on social media a few months ago...
7. GET INSPIRED BY NATURE
Nature can benefit both your mental and physical wellbeing, helping us to get inspired, relax and reduces stress. Your atHome garden room allows you to spend more time in nature - a timber room itself - and enjoy your garden and its surroundings. Whether you are working, exercising, creating or socialising, even on freezing winter days just switch on your Wi-Fi heater before heading out and enjoy the warm and cosy atmosphere. In the summer, you can welcome the outside in by opening up your doors and letting the fresh summer breeze enter.
8. WARM, SECURE & BUILT TO LAST
All of our garden rooms are made in our factory in Ayrshire, Scotland to the highest of standards. They are secure, double-glazed and fully insulated using strong, reinforced fibre-glass. atHome provides external and internal LED lighting and a Wi-Fi controlled heater ready to connect to your mains electricity as standard across all of our range. For the exterior, we use FDA-approved, sustainably sourced Siberian Larch wood which is a species of tree grown in extreme arctic conditions making it tough and durable timber. With natural resin, it is especially resistant to decay.
atHome garden rooms are built to last and we provide a 10-year guarantee against any structural defects.
